The divine will
is a deep abyss
of which the present
moment is the entrance.
If you plunge
into this abyss
you will find it
infinitely more vast
than your
desires.

—Jean Pierre de Caussade, Abandonment to Divine Providence (1861), trans. E. J. Strickland; versified by Roger Housden in For Lovers of God Everywhere: Poems of the Christian Mystics

  1. Gah. So beautiful. All of it. The text, the image. Thank you. This one hit hard, in the best way.
